Yeah in my head "wonder what blah blah will do." is purely in my head until I get clearance from you or Stu :) If so, you should be able to contact the device from the app on your phone on LAN, NOT 4g. Does that match the LAN IP you reserved in your new router? Does the port match what you assigned? It should say an Insteon device has been found, then it'll list the LAN IP:port number. Does it match the external IP you get if, from the same computer, you google 'what is my IP?' Deleting your account here is counter-productive, don't do that.įrom a computer connected to the same LAN net/subnet, navigate to. Wondering what'll happen if I delete the account and reset it up from scratch. I would have thought the hub would have kept all its old settings since they're stored on it physically or in the cloud. Then, and only then, do I change the IP address, but not the port number.ĭrats, I want it to work and I want it nowĭo you think it seems odd that the cloud can't find it at this point? I didn't change the settings on the hub itself, just the brief change on the router and that wasn't from the external side at all, just the internal addressing. My experience has bee to allow the cloud to find the Hub using the default settings and leaving it there-for a while-usually a day or two, ensuring that every thing is working OK. Saw the camera image on the app, tho not consistently, but I can't get light status and I keep getting "Connection to hub has been lost, please resolve - then tap ok" Oddly, I restarted the app on the phone and I saw that it picked up the new WAN IP but it showed the internal IP as 10.233.38.6 so I went and changed that to 150 and then power cycled the hub. It's like it didn't pick up the new WAN IP. coming from the outside) I can't connect. If I turn wireless off and use the 4G LTE network (i.e. I flipped the forwarding off on the router and can get to the hub on my laptop now and also on my phone but only when the phone is on wireless. I had it on on the old router and I thought I had to have it on in order to access it from not on my wireless. Please don't PM with questions that can be asked in a forum.

MathLandia High school mathematics learning fun.īoth Stu's Views and MathLandia are free websites that do not sell anything. The cloud is set to find your Hub without port forwarding as long as it remains at 25105. On the sixth tap the Hub will stop beeping and the LED will turn blueģ) Remove power from INSTEON Hub and wait about 10 secondsĪlso, do not forward 25105 for the Hub. On the fifth tap the Hub will start beeping and the LED will turn green On the first tap the Hub will double beep and the LED will turn to blue

If you have changed your network settings and cannot connect to the Hub, try performing a Network Reset.ġ) Press and hold INSTEON Hub set button until it beeps I should add that I also tried a network reset and still nothing Am I missing something super obvious (which would not surprise me) at this point. Doesn't work from the app on my phone or in a browser on the same network. It's almost like the hub is still looking for the 199.96.180.196 and hasn't realized that the WAN/Public IP has changed. Since the new router went in, my public IP is now 72.28.28.68 I have a account set up on the router as I did on the old which has updated fine, tho I don't think that's relevant here. In the app I can see my public IP was 199.96.180.196. In the app on my phone it just spins and spins. Forwarding 25105 to the 150 static IP of the hub and 25106 to the 29 static of the camera (I only hand out 20 dynamic IPs from 2 - 22) so I always assign my statics higher up than 25.Īnyway, I can't get connected to the hub now.

All port forwarding settings on the new are just like the old. Original IP on router was 192.168.1.1, I changed it to 10.233.38.1 as my old one was. Had a router die and had to put in a new one.

Had the hub (and a camera) set up and working with no issues. I'm fairly certain I'm just being dumb and missing something obvious. Security and Privacy | Do Not Sell My Info
